The Quilt Garden

image of home before work BEGINNING THE LAYOUT

The framework for this formal quilt garden consists of cookie cutter-type structures to contain plants. The plan called for flatiron forms built to specifications.

The cookie cutters are arranged to create the parterre, a collection of beds separated by walkways. In the center of the parterre, the fountain starts to take form and will become the focal point of this space.

The focal point of the garden is a fountain repeating the quilt pattern of the surrounding parterre. The paths consist of crushed gravel mixed with a bonding material which creates a level surface sturdy enough to support foot traffic.
